Hunter Fitzpatrick Maher was recognized by the Board of Commissioners at the Dec. 4 regular meeting for the attainment of the Eagle Scout Rank. Commissioner Ronald J. Pardini presented Maher’s proclamation.

“Your educational and service background is quite impressive, and I want to say thank you for your service to this community,” said Commissioner Pardini.  

Maher’s award represents the most advanced level of achievement in skill, service and leadership in Scouting. For his Eagle Scout project, he expended 444 hours with 50 volunteers, by refurbishing four dugouts on the baseball fields at St. Louise de Marillac School.

In addition to being a member of Scout Troop 4, Maher, a senior at USCHS, is a leader of the Kids Helping Kids Club, a member of the National Honor Society, a National Merit Semifinalist, an AP Scholar with Honors, the captain of the varsity volleyball team and a member of the cross country and indoor track teams.
