Notice of Examination for the Position of Probationary Police Officer

Probationary Police Officer
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 23
  • Citizen of United States
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Completion of Act 120 training
  • Physically fit for police duty
  • Good moral character
  • Valid license to operate motor vehicle in Pennsylvania
  • Residency in Upper St. Clair is NOT a requirement
  • Supply a credit check report with application
  • 2022 starting base salary: $65,873
  • 2022 base salary for top-level patrolman: $100,776
  • Other compensation incentives provided

Competitive Examination Will Include (Subject to Police Civil Service Rules and Regulations):
  • Job-related physical ability test
  • Written test (subject to successful physical ability test)
  • Oral test
  • Background investigation
  • Psychological and medical exam, including drug screening and polygraph exam
Upper St. Clair is participating in the SHACOG (South Hills Area Council of Governments) Joint Police Test. Testing will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022.
