If you are interested in meeting people your age we invite you to participate in the variety of programs offered through the C&RC and USC Recreation department. There are many activities to choose from such as exercise classes, weekly luncheons, walking, yoga, cards and games, arts and crafts, and much more.

ACCESS and Port Authority Senior Citizen Program

Applications for the Port Authority Senior Citizen program and ACCESS Transportation are available at the Community & Recreation Center. Application must be made in person at the C&RC during business hours Monday through Friday. Proof of age is required at the time of application.

Silver Card Program

This is a free program for any residents of Upper St. Clair age 62 or older. Applications are available at the Community & Recreation Center. Proof of age and residency must be submitted at the time of application. The following benefits* are available to Silver Card holders:

  • Use of the Municipal three-hole golf course (no cost) and outdoor tennis facilities (no cost for permit)
  • Free participation in specified C&RC group exercise programs, such as: Zumba Gold Sculpt, Zumba Gold, Senior Fit, Water Walking, Hydro Strength, T’ai Chi, Boomer Balance & Flexibility, Aqua Boot Camp, Mat Pilates, Boomer Bootcamp, Aqua Step & Core, Water Tai Chi, and Strong Bodies/Strong Bones
  • Discounted drop-in rate for Pickleball

Seniors at Leisure

Every Friday afternoon we’ll do something fun! There are three “rotations": the second Friday of the month is Art Experience; third Friday is Entertainment Day; fourth Friday is Card and Game Day!

Art Experience

Professional Artist, Rikki Walsh, will offer a hands-on art activity on the second Friday of each month.

Senior Movie Day

Join seniors from around the area on the third Friday of the month as we enjoy a variety of offerings and an entertaining afternoon, which includes a light lunch.

Card and Game Day

Meets the fourth Friday of the month with opportunities to play a variety of games such as mahjongg, puzzles, and bridge

United Senior Citizens Program

The United Senior Citizens program is sponsored by the Township of Upper St. Clair Department of Recreation and Leisure Services. In order to participate, one must be a resident of the Township, 55 years of age or older, and retired. Spouses of eligible members may also join even if under age 55.

The program meets on Wednesdays.  Morning activities are informal and include the preparation of lunch by volunteers from the group.  Informal activities begin at 10:00 a.m., including card game play and to assisting with lunch preparation. The members hold a brief business meeting at 12 p.m., which is followed by a delicious meal.

Afternoon activities include musical entertainment, lectures or presentations of interest, book reviews, health and fitness instruction, game days, and more! In addition, day trips to various performances and places of interest are scheduled throughout the year.  Most meetings are held at the McLaughlin Run Recreation Center located at 1770 McLaughlin Run Road. Meetings may be held at the Community & Recreation Center located at 1551 Mayview Road.
