Commissioners Honor an Upper St. Clair Eagle Scout

The Board of Commissioners issued an official proclamation recognizing the attainment of the Eagle Scout rank by Connor Alexander Payne, Scout Troop 1331. Commissioner Ronald J. Pardini presented the proclamation.

"You have my utmost respect," Commissioner Pardini told Connor.

Connor is a 2021 graduate of Upper St. Clair High School and attends Edinboro University, majoring in psychology.

Connor's Eagle Scout project involved the rehabilitation of the St. Valentine Preschool facilities, which he attended as a child. Most of the work involved rehabilitating the playground. Connor led a team in building new seating for teachers and a new picnic table for students, erecting a new roof on the gazebo, cleaning all playground material, refreshing stain and paint, and mulching some areas of the playground. A portion of the project also involved painting the school's interior hallway and making repairs to the walls. The work consisted of about 200 hours of service.

In addition to Connor's Eagle Scout project, Connor also served his troop as Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Junior Scoutmaster, and is a member of the Order of the Arrow, earning 30 merit badges. Last year, Connor attended the Northern Tier High Adventure Program in Ely, Minnesota, where he and his troop camped and traveled more than 50 miles by canoe through the Superior National Forest.
