Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners President Mark D. Christie received a proclamation Monday night for faithfully serving as a member of the Board of Commissioners, Ward 4, from Jan. 4, 2010 through Dec. 31, 2021.

"Truly and honestly, I'm going to miss you. You've been a true mentor to me," said Board Vice President Daniel R. Paoly. "The Board expresses deep appreciation on behalf of its members and the residents of the Township of Upper St. Clair for loyal and dedicated service."

Representative Natalie Mihalek also gave Mr. Christie a Certificate of Achievement for his years of serving on the Board.

Mr. Christie was an active member of the Board during many accomplishments, including the approval, construction, and opening of the Miracle Field and the Casey's Clubhouse Playground, Siena at St. Clair, the USC Veterans Park, and much more. His oversight assisted in the development of 12 consecutive balanced budgets with no tax increase.

Mr. Christie served the Board of Commissioners as president from 2016 through 2021; chair of the Human Resources Committee and Budget and Finance Committee; member of the Parks and Recreation Committee and Public Works Committee; and representative of the South Hills Area Council of Governments, Tri-Community South EMS, and Southern Basin Group/Administrative Consent Order.

Mr. Christie thanked the board members and the Township staff who help make the Upper St. Clair community a great place to live.
