According to South Fayette Township, the PennDOT project to improve the intersection of Boyce and Mayview Roads located in South Fayette will begin on Monday, March 22 and end in November. The work is designed to help prevent flooding in the intersection.

Road Closure 1 - Mayview Road, Cecil Side

• March 22 until late July
• Detour: Georgetown Road; Morganza Road; Washington Pike; Boyce Road

Road Closure 2 - Boyce Road, Washington Pike Side

• June to August
• Detour: Georgetown Road; Morganza Road; Washington Pike; Washington Avenue; Bower Hill Road; McLaughlin Run Road; Lesnett Road; Mayview Road

Road Closure 3 and 4 - Boyce Road, Route 19 Side and Mayview Road, Hastings Side

• Late summer to mid-October
• Detour: Boyce Road; Washington Pike; Washington Avenue; Bower Hill Road; McLaughlin Run Road; Lesnett Road or Route 19

Various Lane Restrictions 

• Mid-October to November 2021
• Daytime only
• No full closures

The contractor for the PennDOT project is Frank Gavlik & Sons, Inc. The project includes:

• Intersection realignment
• Additional turn lanes
• Updated traffic signal hardware
• Drainage improvements
• Stream channel realignment
• Culvert replacement
• Other work

The project was delayed due to funding shortages due to the pandemic. However, a government relief package now allows PennDOT to begin this project.
