The Township employs both full-time and part-time employees as well as Administrative Interns and other contractual professionals. Openings are generally announced through advertisements in local newspapers, professional journals and/or on various websites, as well as on the Township's website.

Upon the announcement of a full-time employment opening, an applicant's Resume and Application needs to be submitted as directed in the job posting. 

Resumes and completed applications for college internships, and part-time work may be submitted at any time throughout the year. However, positions for Public Works and Recreation Department Summer Positions should be made on or before May 23 of each year. Full Time Positions

The Township of Upper St. Clair Library has an immediate opening for an outgoing and enthusiastic full time (40 hrs./week) Programs and Outreach Services Librarian. Responsibilities include a variety of professional duties including planning and overseeing programs and outreach services for adults both within the library and in the community at large. Additional work involves assisting patrons, answering reference and reader’s advisory questions, collection development assignments, digital literacy instruction, and other position specific duties as needed. The ability to work cooperatively on a team is essential and excellent organizational and communication skills are necessary. Applicants should demonstrate a vision for the future of library programs services for adults and the energy to bring that vision to reality.

A Master in Library Science or Information Science degree from an ALA accredited library school is required. Computer literacy skills, strong technical skills, IBM and MAC, and MS office proficiency (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are required. At least three years of experience in a public library and demonstrated experience with running programs and/or event planning are required. Familiarity with the III Sierra ILS, or another library automation system, is preferred.

Flexibility is essential as evening and/or weekend programs and events will require a varying work schedule, with an average of 2 evenings a week.

Intern Position


The Township of Upper St. Claire is accepting applications for an Administrative intern.  The successful applicant for the position will be expected to prepare presentations, reports and other written and visual material based on research and data collection needed for the Township.  The intern reports to the Assistant Township Manager.

    The Township of Upper St. Clair is seeking Personal Trainers and Barre Instructors for the Community & Recreation Center Fitness Department.  These positions are responsible for the creation and instruction of personal fitness training programs and Barre Sculpt classes for Community & Recreation Center customers & visitors.

    Requirements for Personal Trainers
    : 2+ years of personal training/instruction experience and related programming.  A nationally accredited training certification (ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE preferred) and current CPR/AED certification.  A degree in exercise science or wellness-related field is preferred but not required.
