The Township employs both full-time and part-time employees as well as Administrative Interns and other contractual professionals. Openings are generally announced through advertisements in local newspapers, professional journals and/or on various websites, as well as on the Township's website.

Upon the announcement of a full-time employment opening, an applicant's Resume and Application needs to be submitted as directed in the job posting. 

Resumes and completed applications for college internships, and part-time work may be submitted at any time throughout the year. However, positions for Public Works and Recreation Department Summer Positions should be made on or before May 23 of each year. The Director of Information Technology oversees administrative, technical and professional work in support of the Township of Upper St. Clair and the Tri-Community South EMS computer networks and applications.This position works closely with all Directors as a resource to help identify and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing hardware and software specifications for purchasing, preparing systems documentation, ensuring employee training, working with outside consultants and vendors, and maintain current knowledge of trends in government technology.

A four-year degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Science, Business Management or a closely related field is required.Candidate must have five years as a manager overseeing a department of diverse staff with multiple skill levels; three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in systems analysis and application development; particular experience with Microsoft, Google Apps, Virtual Environments, Windows platforms and database applications, and SQL. Thorough knowledge of information technology and management along with written skills are necessary.

The Township of Upper St. Clair is accepting applications for the position of a Semi-Skilled Laborer. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, experience in the multiple phases of Township maintenance responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Light construction
  • Asphalt
  • Routine inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Park and athletic field maintenance
  • Landscaping and mowing
  • Storm Sewer and Sanitary Sewer work
  • Operates trucks of various sizes and weights
  • Heavy lifting

Candidates must have a valid PA Driver’s license. Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License is preferred. The ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time is a MUST. This position works indoors and outdoors and is exposed to a variety of weather conditions.

Starting Schedule

Mondays 1-5 p.m., Tuesday 5-9 p.m. and 2-3 weekend days every month

Weekend days are Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 12:30 – 5 p.m. 

You will also be asked to work other weekdays and evenings as needed.

    The Township of Upper St. Clair is seeking Personal Trainers and Barre Instructors for the Community & Recreation Center Fitness Department.  These positions are responsible for the creation and instruction of personal fitness training programs and Barre Sculpt classes for Community & Recreation Center customers & visitors.

    Requirements for Personal Trainers
    : 2+ years of personal training/instruction experience and related programming.  A nationally accredited training certification (ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE preferred) and current CPR/AED certification.  A degree in exercise science or wellness-related field is preferred but not required.
