The Township employs both full-time and part-time employees as well as Administrative Interns and other contractual professionals. Openings are generally announced through advertisements in local newspapers, professional journals and/or on various websites, as well as on the Township's website.

Upon the announcement of a full-time employment opening, an applicant's Resume and Application needs to be submitted as directed in the job posting. 

Resumes and completed applications for college internships, and part-time work may be submitted at any time throughout the year. However, positions for Public Works and Recreation Department Summer Positions should be made on or before May 23 of each year. MECHANIC-DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

The Township of Upper St. Clair is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Mechanic. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operates a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools
  • Tests, service and repair vehicles and mechanical equipment
  • Repairs brake, engine, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, transmission, ignition, air, exhaust, axle assemblies and related systems.
  • Evaluates the status of mechanical equipment and vehicles, and perform or schedule needed repairs
  • Conducts analysis and inspections
  • Purchases equipment, parts, and supplies used for vehicle and mechanical system maintenance
  • Provides emergency field assistance
  • Parts & vehicle maintenance inventory
  • Maintains records and reports

Candidate must have current valid driver’s license and CDL driver’s license or acquire in the State of PA within 60 days; current PA Class 7 inspection license; minimum five (5) years’ experience in hydraulic repair of heavy duty trucks and off-road equipment; welding & fabricating and TIG welding; municipal/commercial mowing equipment repairs; fleet management programs and computer skills; manage parts inventory; and assist in all phases of municipal fleet operations.

AQUATICS COORDINATOR-COMMUNITY & RECREATION CENTER

 

The Township of Upper St. Clair is now accepting applications for the position of Aquatics Coordinator for the Community & Recreation Center.This position works under the general supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor.The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of aquatic programs, water exercise and swim lesson instruction along with training all instructors.In addition, maintaining the aquatics facilities in a neat and orderly manner and generating membership sales through respected and innovative aquatic programs is also an important aspect of this position.This position entails resolving complaints, developing and implementing swim programs, creating revenue enhancement strategies through recreational programming and Coordinating special event activities.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. Candidate must have 1+ years’ experience in Aquatics facility operations.Candidate must have supervising experience in recreation services and must be a Certified Lifeguard.WSI needs to be attained within six (6) months and WSIT within one (1) year of hire date.

 

The applicant must:

  • Have the ability to work days, evenings, week-ends and holidays as needed
  • Secure FBI Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance and Criminal Clearance upon hire
  • Have excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be customer service oriented
  • Have a strong team attitude
  • Ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously
  • Ability to speak fluent and clear English
  • Ability to work cooperatively with groups of all age levels and socio-economic backgrounds and other Township employees

      The Township of Upper St. Clair is seeking Personal Trainers and Barre Instructors for the Community & Recreation Center Fitness Department.  These positions are responsible for the creation and instruction of personal fitness training programs and Barre Sculpt classes for Community & Recreation Center customers & visitors.

      Requirements for Personal Trainers
      : 2+ years of personal training/instruction experience and related programming.  A nationally accredited training certification (ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE preferred) and current CPR/AED certification.  A degree in exercise science or wellness-related field is preferred but not required.

      The C&RC Aquatics Department is currently seeking evening and/or weekend Swim Lesson Instructors. Candidates should be at least 16 years old, have some teaching experience, and be proficient in all strokes. Current WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certification preferred, but not necessary. Applicants who do not have a current WSI will be expected to obtain a certification within 6 months of hire. CPR and first aid required.
