The Township employs both full-time and part-time employees as well as Administrative Interns and other contractual professionals. Openings are generally announced through advertisements in local newspapers, professional journals and/or on various websites, as well as on the Township's website.

Upon the announcement of a full-time employment opening, an applicant's Resume and Application needs to be submitted as directed in the job posting. 

Resumes and completed applications for college internships, and part-time work may be submitted at any time throughout the year. However, positions for Public Works and Recreation Department Summer Positions should be made on or before May 23 of each year. CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

 

The Township of Upper St. Clair is now accepting applications for position of Code Enforcement Officer.This position reports directly to the Director of Planning & Community Development.The ideal candidate must have general knowledge of code enforcement principles as related to a municipal setting as well as design and construction of site improvements, sewers, streets, utilities, etc.This position requires strong communication and organizational skills.The ideal candidate must be able to prepare legal documents, process permits, execute violations and follow up, and conduct investigations as needed.

Qualified candidates should possess an Associate’s Degree in a related field and at least two (2) years’ experience in code enforcement, construction, inspection or a related field.  International Code Council (ICC) certification(s), such as Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector, Residential Building Inspector and/or other related certifications/licenses are desired. Applicants must have experience with reading land surveys and constructions plans.Considerable Initiative, independent judgement, and professional communication skills are necessary for this position.

GUEST RELATIONS COORDINATOR

The Township of Upper St. Clair is now accepting applications for the position of Guest Relations Coordinator for the Community & Recreation Center.This position works under the general supervision of the Membership/Marketing Services Supervisor.The Guest Relations Coordinator is responsible for educating and training staff on facility policies and procedures along with expectations of customer service.This position includes daily cash handling, payroll, sales and inventory control, and customer service.The position will train, manage and motivate Front Desk/Control Desk Attendants and Playroom staff to emphasize superior customer service and enhance members’ experience.

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and sales experience preferred. Must have strong organizational and communication skills along with some trainer experience especially with customer service/leadership.

This is a salaried position with an excellent benefits package and requires flexible scheduling including nights, weekends and a rotational Manager-on-Duty shift.

ASSISTANT COMMUNITY PROGRAMS COORDINATOR

 

The Township of Upper St. Clair is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Community Programs Coordinator.This position works under the general supervision of the Community Programs Coordinator. The Assistant Community Programs Coordinator plans, organizes, and coordinates community recreation programs including cultural arts, sports programs and leagues, physical and health activities, and special events.This position assists as needed with the Older Adults programming, including a weekly lunch and other activities.Knowledge of youth programming philosophy, planning, and administration is required.Work involves some initiative and independent judgment and is periodically reviewed at completion.Must be CPR and First Aid certified on a yearly basis.Must have current Child Abuse, Criminal Abuse, and FBI Clearances.Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sport Management, Exercise Science, or a closely related field.Must have at least one (1) year of experience with recreation programs, preferably involving youth.

    PERSONAL TRAINER

      The Township of Upper St. Clair is seeking Personal Trainers and Barre Instructors for the Community & Recreation Center Fitness Department.  These positions are responsible for the creation and instruction of personal fitness training programs and Barre Sculpt classes for Community & Recreation Center customers & visitors.

      Requirements for Personal Trainers
      : 2+ years of personal training/instruction experience and related programming.  A nationally accredited training certification (ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE preferred) and current CPR/AED certification.  A degree in exercise science or wellness-related field is preferred but not required.

      Applicants for the above position must:
      •  Be available to work shifts and weekends
      •  Be customer service oriented
      •  Have a strong team attitude
      •  Possess exceptional communication skills
      •  Secure Child Abuse Clearance and Criminal Clearance upon hire

      The C&RC Aquatics Department is currently seeking evening and/or weekend Swim Lesson Instructors. Candidates should be at least 16 years old, have some teaching experience, and be proficient in all strokes. Current WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certification preferred, but not necessary. Applicants who do not have a current WSI will be expected to obtain a certification within 6 months of hire. CPR and first aid required.
