Community Recreation Center

Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Community Recreation Center (CRC) were held on Monday November 26, 2007. Site preparation started in December with completion of the project scheduled for 2009.

Facilities and Benefits

The center's first floor will consist of an indoor aquatics center, locker rooms, party and classrooms, concessions area, senior/teen lounge, fitness center, large community room (including kitchen facilities) that can be subdivided, gymnasiums, central community lounge, administrative offices, and attended child care for parent susing the facility.

The second floor will contain a state of the art fitness area with exercise equipment and a 1/8 mile walking/jogging track which overlooks all the first floor activities. The interior will be fitted with WI-FI.

The large gymnasium can be subdivided and used for numerous rec programs for all ages such as volleyball, basketball, badminton, after school programs, summer camps, teen events, and many others.

Adjacent to the building will be an outdoor pool with changing rooms, concessions area, shade areas, and lounge area. The indoor and outdoor pools will contain lap lanes, slide, and sprays. Especially attractive to seniors is the zero depth entry to the pool and the indoor therapeutic resistance pool/lazy river which can be used to wlak against the water's currents for low impact exercise.
