Telephone Solicitations, Telemarketing and Junk Mail

The Police Department does not sponsor or benefit from telephone solicitation. Anyone who claims to be representing the Department is using that statement under false pretenses. Continued harassing calls should be reported to us.

To Avoid Telephone Calls From Telemarketers:

  • You can register for the Pennsylvania Do Not Call list online at or by phoning 1-888-777-3406. Registration is free.
  • Pennsylvania's Do Not Call Website has an informative FAQ section which covers both the Pennsylvania and Federal programs.
  • You can register for the National No Call Registry online at or by phoning 1-888-382-1222. Registration is free.
  • You can also send your name, address, and telephone number (including area code) to:
    The Direct Marketing Association
    Telephone Preference Service
    P.O. Box 9014
    Farmingdale, NY 11735-9014.

Telemarketers are required to maintain do-not-call lists. You can tell the telemarketer to place your name on that business' do-not-call list.
