Thank you for your interest in joining our staff and your desire to help provide quality library service to all our patrons.
If you like helping people, part-time library work could be just what you're looking for. Because the library is open weekday evenings and on weekends, work schedules typically include at least one evening a week and one or two weekends a month.
The Library will accept resumes at any time. Resumes are kept on file for 6 months and considered for any suitable position that becomes open during that time. Open positions are posted on this site as they become available.
Typical Library Positions
Reference Librarian. The Reference Librarian is a professional with an MLS degree whose main duty is serving patrons at the Reference Desk. The Reference Librarian's main areas of responsibility include answering reference and reader's advisory questions, providing help to patrons at computer stations, and maintaining the Library collection. Reference Librarians will also assist at the circulation stations as needed. They typically work from 12 to 24 hours a week, including evenings and weekends.
Library Assistant. The Library Assistant is a paraprofessional position providing direct service to library patrons at the circulation stations, and answering questions and providing direction. The Library Assistant performs a variety work with the automated circulation system, assists in the processing of library materials, and in maintaining the Library collections by shelf-reading and shelving materials. Library Assistants typically work 8 to 20 hours a week, including evenings and weekends.
