Storytimes Fall 2009

  • All programs are free of charge.
  • Registration for all programs is done in person at the Library.
  • To ensure quality programs, limiting groups by size and age is often necessary.

NEW! Family Storytime

If you have kids between 2 and 7 years of age, you're invited to spend a fun evening sharing stories, songs and games. Active participation by kids and parents is strongly encouraged!

Who:Children ages 2 - 7 and parents, grandparents, or caregivers
Dates:October 1, November 5, December 10
When:Thursday at 7:00 p.m
Where:Children's Story Room

Registration for the October 1 Storytime begins Monday, September 21
Registration for the November 5 Storytime begins Monday, October 19
Registration for the December 10 Storytime begins begins Monday, November 30


Babies and Toddlers

This program combines action rhymes, songs, interactive play, and books in a fast paced program designed to hold the attention of our youngest participants. It concludes with a playtime. Active parental participation is encouraged.

Who:Children ages 4 to 24 months with a caregiver
Dates:October 5 - November 9
When:Mondays at 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.
Where:Children's Story Room

Twos and Threes

Here's our special program just for your two or three year old. This half-hour program features books and stories, action rhymes and songs, puppets and play. It concludes with a playtime. Active parental participation is encouraged.

Who:Children ages 2 to 3 ½ years old with a caregiver
Dates:October 14/15 - November 18/19
When:Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.
When:Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.

Pre-school Storytime

This fun and educational half-hour program features stories, songs, finger plays, and book-related activities. Children attend storytime on their own. Caregivers are asked to join the program when an art activity ends the program.

Who:Pre-school children ages 3 ½, 4, and 5 years old who are ready to spend a half-hour on their own
Dates:October 8/9 - November 19/20
 Thursdays at 1:45 p.m.
WhenFridays at 10:00 a.m. or 1:45 p.m.

NEW! Science & Math in the Library

In this six week program, we'll be exploring simple science and math concepts through books and hands-on activities. Each week a different concept will be explored including: Weather, Measurement, Sorting, and Building. This program will have a limited enrollment but it will be repeated this winter.

Who:Children 4 ½ and older who are not yet in 1st grade
Dates:October 6 - November 10

More Than a Story

If you like super stories, great games, and cool crafts come to More than a Story! Every other week we will also be welcoming Rona and Norman Pookman and their therapy dogs, Molly and Piper. Participants in this program will get a chance to interact with the dogs who love to hear stories read by boys and girls.

Who:Children in kindergarten and first grade
Dates:October 7/8 - November 18/19
When:Wednesdays or Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Where:Children's Story Room

Book Trek

During this session participants will discover the world! This after school program will combine books with activities and projects designed to introduce different countries and cultures to all of the participants. Have fun exploring the world through books!

Who:Children in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades
Dates:October 6 - November 17
When:Tuesdays at 4 p.m.
Where:Children's Story Room
