Our collection consists of over 30,000 books including:

  • Toddler Books - board books for the very young
  • Picture Books
  • Easy Reader Books - for children beginning to read
  • Readers - for first and second graders
  • Easy Nonfiction - simplified factual books
  • Juvenile Fiction - easy chapter books and advanced works of fiction
  • Nonfiction - circulating and reference 
  • Young Adult Collection - for children in the upper grades 
  • Adult Books - on parenting and other subjects of interest to parents and teachers 
  • Magazines - for all age and interest groups

The collection also contains these non-print items:

  • Music on CD
  • Audio Books, including read-a-loud stories, family listening, Playaway Audio and teen selections
  • Movies for both older and younger children
  • Puppets
  • Puzzles

Computers

The library has 8 computers on the children's floor with Internet access and Microsoft Office 2007, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher.

Black and white and color printers are available to the public at 15 cents per page.

Personal documents must be saved on a USB (flash) device.

Wireless access is also available for laptops with a wireless card.

Time-management software limits use to one half hour if others are waiting.

The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) is a federal law that requires all computers in a public library to be filtered.

All Library computers are filtered.

Reader's Advisory

Library Staff is available to recommend books by age, reading level, and subject. We also have book lists to help you locate just the right book.

Becoming A Reader

Parents, caregivers, and teachers of babies through high school students ....... We are here to answer your questions about reading!

Learn:

  • Activities that will help your young child get ready to read.
  • Tips for helping your beginning reader.
  • How to find books your child and teen will like.

Are You Interested?

  • If so, set up an appointment that works for you by stopping in the Library or calling 412.835.5540.
  • Plan to spend approximately one-half hour in the Library.
