About our Township

The Township Building pictured on our Home Page houses the:

  • Administration offices for the Township and School District
  • Commissioners' Meeting Room
  • Tax Office
  • Community Development
  • Library
  • Police Department
  • The Public Works Department Building is a 1/4 mile further South on McLaughlin Run Road (across from the 3-hole golf course).
  • The Recreation Department is located in the Community & Recreation Center on Mayview Road.

Our Township's government...its organization, departments and responsibilities

The Post Office is on McLaughlin Run Road at the intersection with Lesnett Road about 1 mile South of the Township Building. Phone number 800.275.8777.

There is a Post Office substation at South Hills Village Shopping Mall which has late afternoon and Sunday hours. It is on the upper level off the rear parking lot nearest Rt. 19.

TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE REMINDERS

Yearly permits are required for the operation of a fire and/or intrusive alarm system.

Smoke detectors are required in all residential structures.

House numbers on residences should be at least a 4" visible Arabic number in close proximity to the door, facing the street.

Outside burning of leaves, trash, or other material is prohibited by the Allegheny County Smoke Control Ordinance.

Parking is permitted only on paved parking areas or driveways.

Parking is not permitted on Township streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Residents operating a home occupation are required to obtain a permit from the Township.

Placement of satellite dishes is restricted by Township Code.
