TOWNSHIP CODE: ON-STREET PARKING
In response to safety considerations and residents' complaints, the Township prohibits the parking of vehicles on Township streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Violation notices and fines are issued in accordance with the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code. Signs alerting residents to this ordinance are posted throughout the Township.
Residents with special needs such as a driveway repair or a scheduled event should contact the Police Department for a temporary waiver to park on the street during these hours.
The street system of the Township was not designed to accommodate on-street parking or storage of vehicles other than "short term" parking needs. Parked cars
- prevent the safe passage of all vehicles, including emergency vehicles;
- prohibit residents from safely entering or exiting their driveways; and
- impede the routes of school buses.
Casual parking, while deliveries are being made or visiting a resident for a short period of time, is permissible in most residential areas between the hours of 6 a.m. and 2 a.m. (but not between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.).
