Community Development
It is no secret that the Township of Upper St. Clair is overwhelmingly a residential community characterized by wonderful green areas.
The Department of Planning and Community Development, established in accordance with the Home Rule Charter, is charged with overseeing the physical development of the community through land use regulation.
Department responsibilities include:
- building and fire prevention codes
- code enforcement
- long range planning
- reviewing plans for development
- zoning laws and building permits
It is the goal of the department to maintain the residential character that exists in the Township as set forth in the Comprehensive Plan.
