The Township employs both full-time and part-time employees as well as administrative interns and other contractual professionals. Openings are generally announced through advertisements in local newspapers and / or professional journals as well as on the Township's web site.

Applications for full-time positions may be picked up at the Township Reception area in the Municipal Building located at 1820 McLaughlin Run Road upon the announcement of the opening.

The Assistant Township Manager will answer any additional questions you may have or will provide any special instructions that may be appropriate to a particular position.

Resumes and / or applications for college internships and part-time work may be submitted at any time throughout the year. However, positions for Public Works and Recreation Department Summer Positions should be made on or before April 15 of each year. Applications for these positions are available at the Reception Desk in the Municipal Building.

The Applications Analyst position includes troubleshooting application issues, designing reports, performing in-house training, monitoring application processes to ensure quality assurance/control, and improvements to application use where applicable. This position also requires good written and spoken communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot multifaceted problems in a systematic manner. Applicants should have a familiarity with the following:

  • Windows Platforms
  • SQL 2003 & 2005
  • GoogleApps
  • GIS Software

Requirements include Graduation from an accredited two/four year college/university or professional school with a degree in computer science, information science, or a related field.

Support Technician I

The Support Technician I position includes working with end-users, help desk support, performing technical work in support of computer networks and applications. Major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to answering/resolving support call issues, reviewing, designing, implementing and maintaining databases and creating/maintaining GIS maps.

Planning and Zoning Coordinator

The Township of Upper St. Clair is accepting applications for the position of Planning and Zoning Coordinator.

This administrative position requires the ability to perform complex professional work as well as clerical tasks in the Department of Planning and Community Development. Responsibilities include assisting the Director of Community Development in the planning for community development and in the administration of the Zoning and Subdivision and Land Development Code. The Planning and Zoning Coordinator works under the general supervision of the Director of Community Development. The work involves considerable initiative and independent judgment and is reviewed periodically upon completion.

Requirements include graduation from a four year college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning (preferred); or Geography and five years experience in Planning or a related field; or Master’s Degree in Planning. Knowledge of and experience with Geographical Information Systems is required; AICP is desired. Excellent benefits package.

The Township of Upper St. Clair is currently seeking full-time and part-time Certified Personal Trainers. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and hold current CPR and AED Certification along with one of the following nationally recognized Personal Training Certifications: ACSM, NASM, NSCA, NCSF, NFPT, or ACE.

PART TIME POSITIONS

Guest Relations Associate - Evenings and Weekend Shifts

Guest Relations is seeking energetic, creative, enthusiastic Associates to join the C&RC Team. This is a great position for any individual looking to make a significant impact in a great working environment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to members and prospective members
  • Scan membership ID's, update members accounts and answer phones
  • Maintain a workplace, front desk operations, basic sales

Group Exercise Instructors

The C&RC Fitness Department is currently seeking part-time group exercise instructors. Candidates must hold current CPR and AED certification along with a nationally recognized group exercise certification.

Certified Lifeguards

The C&RC Aquatics Department is currently seeking lifeguards for the fall/ winter season. All shifts are available: afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Candidates must be certified in Lifeguarding/CPR and First Aid. Applicants must be age 16 years of age or older.

Swim Lesson Instructors

The C&RC Aquatics Department is currently seeking evening and/or weekend Swim Lesson Instructors. Candidates should be at least 16 years old, have some teaching experience, and be proficient in all strokes. Current WSI (Water Safety Instructor) certification preferred, but not necessary. Applicants who do not have a current WSI will be expected to obtain a certification within 6 months of hire. CPR and first aid required.
