1997 Whitetail Deer Survey

The following statistics are the results of the questionnaire sent out by the Board of Commissioners concerning the Township's whitetail deer population. 1,963 surveys were returned.

Accidents:

Indicate whether anyone in your family has had an accident involving deer within the Township.

Do you favor a controlled management harvest to reduce the size of local deer population to a more environmentally balanced number?

  • The deer were here first!!
  • What does "Controlled Harvest" mean?
  • Mayview Road is very dangerous.
  • Health issue - "Lyme Disease"
  • Hunting with guns a concern for safety.
  • Bow and Arrow only.
  • Use Birth Control method.
  • Auto accidents becoming more dangerous.
  • Residents are upset over the amount of property damage occurring.
  • A number of residents were not aware there was a problem in the Township.
