Upper St. Clair Commissioner Recognized for His Service

The Township of Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners recognized the service of Commissioner Rex A. Waller during their Dec. 4 meeting. President Mark Christie presented Vice President Waller with a proclamation.

Mr. Waller has served as a member of the Board of Commissioners, Ward 2, from January 2014 and will continue through Jan. 2, 2018.

Mr. Waller was an active member of the Board during the approval, construction and opening of Dunkin’ Donuts, Whole Foods, Siena at St. Clair, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, and CVS Pharmacy.  He was also part of the renovation of Wiltshire Park, the addition of lights at Boyce Mayview Field, installation of new Township street signage, bond refunding, the approval of the consent order and agreement with the Allegheny Health Department, and more.

As chair of the Community Development Committee, Mr. Waller helped guide and oversee the development and approval of the 2015-2025 Comprehensive Plan and was a member of the Board for the approval of the 2016 Parks and Recreation Plan.

During his time as a commissioner, Mr. Waller also served as Vice President of the 
Board, member of the Human Resources Committee, member of the Budget and Finance Committee, member of the Public Safety Committee, representative of the South Hills Area Council of Governments, and representative of The Outdoor Classroom Ad Hoc Committee.

Mr. Waller performed his duties with dedication, fairness, and intelligence – maintaining a positive spirit of cooperation and respect with Board members and Township staff. Commissioners expressed a deep appreciation on behalf of Upper St. Clair residents for his loyal service.
