At 11 a.m., nonprofit groups from the community will open their booths with games and food to buy in McLaughlin Run Activity Center's (the MAC) parking lot, located at 1770 McLaughlin Run Road. The booth area will remain open until 4 p.m.
The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. The parade will follow the route from Truxton Drive, along McLaughlin Run Road to Panther Pass, and back up to the high school. The best place to watch the parade is along McLaughlin Run Road. Consider bringing a bag or container for kids to collect candy thrown from the parade. This year's grand marshals are Dr. Patrick O'Toole, retiring superintendent of schools, and Joe Conners, retiring chief of school police. Pink Panthers is this year's theme.
New this year, the Upper St. Clair High School Student Council will host a continual Scavenger Hunt from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids can hunt for hidden "gems" that will be scattered around Community Day. Inside each "gem," a note will tell the finder to bring the "gem" and the paper to the Student Council booth to claim his/her prize.
